Team Standings
In championship week of the North American Corporate Chess League’s season 8, Symetra held onto their sturdy lead to secure the season 8 title. This is Symetra’s first title – they join Capital One, Deloitte, Google, and the Susquehanna International Group as NACCL champions.
Team Standings
Symetra earned the highest team score ever achieved in 8 seasons of the NACCL, with 57.5 points. They were bolstered by four very strong titled players: GM Andrey Stukopin, GM Vladimir Belous, IM Yannick Kambrath, and IM Irakli Beradze.
In second place was a familiar face in Google – A, with 50 points, led by Yury Volvovskiy, IM Ritvars Reimanis, Thanga Manickam, and Derek Jia.
Rounding out the top 10 were Nvidia (48 points), Capital One – A (46.5), Ernst & Young (46), Deloitte (46), PricewaterhouseCoopers (45.5), Jane Street (45.5), FINRA (45), and Google – B (44.5).
Plaques are awarded to the top 10 teams overall, as well as the top two small companies (Flume Water and Torchlight Investors). The full team standings and awards can be seen here.
Individual Standings
Symetra also dominated the individual standings, taking the top 4 spots (GM Stukopin – 15 points, GM Belous – 14.5, IM Kambrath – 14, IM Beradze – 14). Tied for fifth place with 13 points were GM Andrey Baryshpolets (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and Yury Volvoskiy (Google – A).
Plaques are engraved and mailed to the top 15 players overall, as well as top 3 in each rating category: Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, Class E, Under 1000, and Unrated. See full individual standings and awards here.
